US President Trump rules out direct Iran talks amid rising Middle East tensions

US President Donald Trump stated that no direct negotiations are currently scheduled between Washington and Tehran, reiterating his position that Iran must not acquire nuclear weapons. Trump warned of potential military action if navigation through the Strait of Hormuz is disrupted, following reports that a vessel was struck in the strategic waterway. In response, Iranian officials cautioned that Tehran would initiate offensive military operations should diplomatic efforts fail.

Concurrently, Palestinian militant group Hamas announced its acceptance of the second phase of a US-proposed peace plan for Gaza. However, Israel maintains that a full military withdrawal from the Gaza Strip remains strictly contingent upon the complete disarmament of Hamas.
