The US conducted fresh air strikes on Iran's Larak Island, killing six naval personnel, even as Qatari-mediated diplomatic talks persist over the Strait of Hormuz.

The United States has executed new air strikes against Iranian military targets on Larak Island in the Strait of Hormuz, marking the first such attacks on Iranian territory in a month. According to U.S. Central Command, the strikes targeted missile launchers, while Iranian state media confirmed that six naval personnel were killed in the bombardment.

Despite the military action, diplomatic channels remain open through Qatari mediation. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi communicated Tehran’s conditions to U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff to reopen the strategic Strait of Hormuz, demanding an immediate end to the U.S. naval blockade, the release of all frozen Iranian assets, and a complete cessation of hostilities. However, prospects for a swift agreement face renewed obstacles after U.S. President Donald Trump announced plans to demand financial compensation from Tehran for past attacks.
