US launches strikes on Iran as Trump threatens further military action

US President Donald Trump threatens further strikes on Iran following military action near Bandar Abbas, while Tehran vows to defend its sovereignty.
US President Donald Trump has threatened additional military strikes against Iran following direct attacks on targets near the coastal cities of Bandar Abbas and Sirik. Trump claimed Tehran is actively seeking a diplomatic agreement with Washington to end the confrontation.
In response, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized that Tehran does not seek a broader conflict, but affirmed the nation will "respond decisively" to any aggression. Meanwhile, Iranian state sources maintained that national naval forces remained operational and undamaged following the bombardments. The exchange marks the first direct military engagement between the two countries in a month.
