US-Iran tensions escalate following strikes near key Iranian ports

U.S. strikes near Iranian port cities trigger warnings of further action from Washington, while Tehran pledges to respond decisively to any aggression.
Tensions between Washington and Tehran have escalated following direct U.S. military strikes near the Iranian port cities of Bandar Abbas and Sirik. U.S. President Donald Trump warned Iran against launching retaliatory actions, asserting that Tehran is eager to negotiate a diplomatic agreement with Washington.
In response, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran is not seeking conflict, but emphasized that his country will "decisively respond to aggressors." Iranian military officials also refuted claims regarding damage to their naval assets, asserting that maritime forces remain fully functional following the exchange. The confrontation represents the first direct military clash between the two nations in over a month, leaving the region on high alert.
