The US executed its largest oil transit operation through the Strait of Hormuz since conflict began, facing Iranian rocket-launched sea mines.

The United States has completed its largest crude oil transit through the Strait of Hormuz since fighting began, leveraging naval, aerial, and satellite assets to protect commercial tankers. Iranian forces responded by deploying rocket-launched sea mines along key maritime corridors. In tandem with the escort operation, American forces targeted Iranian military sites on Larak Island to disrupt attacks on merchant shipping.

Tehran reasserted that the strategic waterway will remain closed until Washington meets its conditions, which include lifting the naval blockade on Iranian ports, removing petroleum sanctions, releasing frozen assets, and halting military actions. Before the war, roughly 20 million barrels of crude oil passed through the choke point daily.
