US charges five alleged Russian intelligence agents over global plots
US prosecutors charged five alleged Russian agents over targeted plots against Ukraine allies, as Danish intelligence reported Russian sabotage against defense firms.
US federal authorities have charged five alleged Russian intelligence operatives for conspiring to carry out targeted assassinations and sabotage across North America and Europe. According to an unsealed indictment from a Manhattan federal court, the suspects recruited a global network to monitor and eliminate individuals aligned with Ukraine, including executing a June 2024 attack in Prague. All five accused individuals remain at large.
Simultaneously, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service revealed at a Copenhagen conference that Danish defense companies supplying military equipment to Ukraine have experienced direct Russian sabotage. Officials characterized these actions as a major escalation in Moscow's hybrid warfare operations designed to disrupt Western support for Kyiv.
