US charges five alleged Russian agents over global plot targeting Ukraine allies
US prosecutors have charged five alleged Russian agents over assassination plots targeting supporters of Ukraine, while Denmark reports hybrid attacks on domestic defense suppliers.
Unsealed court documents in Manhattan reveal that United States federal prosecutors have charged five alleged Russian intelligence agents in connection with a global campaign of sabotage and assassination plots targeting supporters of Ukraine. Authorities allege the network recruited operatives across Europe and North America to conduct surveillance and execute violence, including a June 2024 attack in Prague. The suspects, who remain at large, allegedly offered payments to individuals to target people perceived as aligned with Kyiv.
Concurrently, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service reported that Russian state actors carried out targeted sabotage against Danish defense companies providing military supplies to Ukraine, describing the incidents as a significant escalation in hybrid warfare.
