Conflicting signals persist over the Strait of Hormuz as Donald Trump predicts an imminent reopening while Iran demands an end to US sanctions and blockades.

Conflicting signals persist over the strategic Strait of Hormuz as US President Donald Trump predicted the waterway could reopen "very soon" following diplomatic discussions mediated by Oman. Trump further warned that Iran would be hit "very strongly" if an agreement is not reached.

Conversely, Iranian authorities maintained that the passage will remain closed until Washington lifts port blockades and oil sanctions, unfreezes assets, and stops military actions. Tehran confirmed a safe navigation route agreement with Oman, but high-ranking Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps leaders pledged "strategic surprises" for the US as defense doctrines are revised, stating they will not yield to American pressure.
