US President Donald Trump expresses optimism on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, while Tehran demands sanction relief and promises "strategic surprises."

Diplomatic efforts to resolve the crisis in the Strait of Hormuz continue to yield conflicting statements from Washington and Tehran. US President Donald Trump stated negotiations mediated by Oman are progressing well, suggesting the strategic waterway could reopen "very soon" while warning Iran faces severe military strikes if talks fail.

Conversely, Iranian authorities insist the strait will stay closed until Washington lifts port blockades, revokes oil sanctions, unfreezes assets, and stops military threats. Although Tehran confirmed finalizing a safe navigation route agreement with Oman, senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commanders pledged "strategic surprises" for Washington, vowing not to bow to American pressure.
