Ukrainian and Bulgarian authorities are investigating after an explosive-laden drone crashed on Saturday near a strategic gas pipeline close to the Romanian border.

Bulgaria's Ministry of Defense reported that initial evaluations indicate the device is a model "widely used by the Ukrainian armed forces." However, officials noted that there is no indication Bulgarian infrastructure was deliberately targeted.

Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Kyiv did not intentionally target Bulgaria, confirming ongoing cooperation with Sofia to clarify the circumstances surrounding the crash. Spokesperson Georgiy Tykhy affirmed that Ukrainian officials remain in close contact with their Bulgarian counterparts regarding the matter. The incident resulted in no reported casualties or structural damage to the nearby gas facilities.
