CHP leader Özgür Özel criticized the transfer of Üsküdar's leadership to the ruling AKP and clarified Mayor Mansur Yavaş's meeting with President Erdoğan.

Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Özgür Özel has sharply criticized the transition of Istanbul's Üsküdar district municipal leadership to the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) following a local council vote. Speaking at a public rally in Üsküdar and during a television interview on Koza TV, Özel framed the outcome as an infringement on the local voters' will and questioned President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's commitment to democratic norms.

Additionally, Özel clarified a recent meeting between Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş and President Erdoğan. He stated that the discussions focused strictly on administrative matters to resolve municipal obstacles affecting public services in the capital.
