Trump urges Zelensky and Putin to reach Ukraine peace deal before winter

U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine before winter. Following a telephone call with Putin, Trump stated he believes the Russian leader wants "an agreement," adding that a negotiated settlement between both parties would be ideal.

Meanwhile, Zelensky described his recent meeting with Trump as "positive and productive," writing on social media that both Washington and Kyiv share the goal of stopping the war in the coming months. Despite the optimistic statements regarding prospective diplomatic steps, neither side offered concrete details on specific terms or a framework for potential negotiations.
