Trump urges Zelensky and Putin to reach peace deal before winter

U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an end to the ongoing conflict before winter. Following a phone call with Putin and a subsequent meeting with Zelensky, Trump stated his belief that Moscow is seeking a resolution, adding that "if Zelensky wants a deal, that would be great."

Zelensky described his discussions with Trump as "positive and productive," noting that both Kyiv and Washington aim to stop the war within the coming months. Trump reiterated his stance that a diplomatic agreement remains achievable if both leaders commit to negotiations.
