Trump urges Ukraine peace deal before winter following talks with leaders

U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate a peace deal before winter. Speaking after a phone conversation with Putin, Trump expressed confidence that Moscow seeks a resolution to the conflict, stating, "He wants a deal."

Zelensky described his recent interaction with Trump as "positive and productive," noting that both Washington and Kyiv share the goal of stopping hostilities in the coming months. While both leaders signaled willingness to engage in diplomatic discussions, no concrete terms or conditions for a potential peace agreement have been publicly disclosed.
