Trump urges Ukraine and Russia to reach peace deal before winter

U.S. President Donald Trump has called on both Ukraine and Russia to reach a settlement to end hostilities before the upcoming winter. Following discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and a telephone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump expressed confidence that Moscow is open to negotiations, stating, "He wants a deal."

Zelensky characterized his dialogue with the American leader as "positive and productive," affirming that both Kyiv and Washington aim to stop the conflict in the coming months. Trump reiterated his push for a negotiated resolution, emphasizing that both sides need to reach an agreement to halt the fighting. Despite the optimism expressed regarding a near-term diplomatic breakthrough, specific parameters for potential peace terms remain undisclosed.
