Trump urges Ukraine and Russia to reach peace deal before winter

US President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an agreement to end the war in Ukraine before winter. Speaking after a meeting with Zelensky and a telephone conversation with Putin, Trump expressed confidence that the Russian president is seeking a resolution, remarking that "if Zelensky wants a deal, it would be great."

Zelensky described his discussions with Trump as "positive and productive," affirming that both nations share the objective of stopping Russian aggression before the cold season sets in. While both leaders signaled optimism regarding diplomatic prospects, neither official provided specific details or potential terms for future negotiations with Moscow.
