Trump urges Ukraine and Russia to reach peace deal before winter

US President Donald Trump has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate a peace agreement before the arrival of winter. Speaking after a phone call with Putin and a meeting with Zelensky, Trump indicated confidence in Moscow's willingness to negotiate, stating, "He wants a deal, and if Zelensky wants a deal, that would be great."

Zelensky described his discussions with the US leader as "positive and productive," adding that both Washington and Kyiv share the objective of ending the conflict in the coming months. Trump maintained that a diplomatic resolution remains feasible if both sides commit to reaching a consensus.
