Trump urges Ukraine and Russia to reach peace agreement before winter

U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an agreement to end the war in Ukraine before winter.

Speaking after a phone conversation with Putin, Trump expressed confidence that the Russian leader is seeking a resolution, stating, "He wants a deal and, if Zelensky wants a deal, that would be great."

Following a separate meeting with Trump, Zelensky described the discussions as "positive and productive," adding that both the United States and Ukraine hope to end the conflict in the coming months. While both leaders expressed optimism about potential negotiations, neither side outlined specific terms or frameworks for peace talks.
