Trump urges Ukraine and Russia to reach agreement before winter
U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Ukraine and Russia to negotiate a settlement to end the war before winter following discussions with leaders in Kyiv and Moscow.
U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an agreement to conclude the war in Ukraine prior to winter. Speaking following recent discussions, Trump expressed confidence that Moscow seeks a settlement, stating, "if Zelensky wants an agreement, that would be great."
Zelensky described his bilateral meeting with Trump as positive, emphasizing that both Washington and Kyiv aim to stop Russian aggression in the coming months. While both leaders underscored the desire for a resolution, neither detailed specific conditions or frameworks for potential negotiations. Moscow has not publicly confirmed any new terms regarding prospective peace talks.
