US President Donald Trump urged Kyiv and Moscow to negotiate a peace deal before winter following talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Following talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, US President Donald Trump urged both Kyiv and Moscow to negotiate an end to their conflict before the upcoming winter. Speaking after a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump expressed confidence that Moscow is seeking a diplomatic resolution, adding that "if Zelensky wants a deal, that would be great."

Zelensky described his discussions with the US leader as "positive and productive," signaling optimism that hostilities could cease in the coming months. Both leaders indicated a shared desire for the conflict to conclude prior to winter. Trump emphasized that both sides must come together, stating he wants Zelensky to reach an agreement with Putin and for Putin to do the same with him.
