US President Donald Trump expressed confidence that Russia seeks a diplomatic resolution, following talks with Volodymyr Zelensky aimed at ending the conflict before winter.

US President Donald Trump has stated he is convinced Russian President Vladimir Putin is seeking a diplomatic settlement to end the conflict in Ukraine, following a telephone call between the two leaders. Speaking after a subsequent meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump urged both nations to negotiate an agreement prior to winter.

Zelensky characterized his dialogue with the US President as "positive and productive," indicating that both Washington and Kyiv share the goal of stopping hostilities in the coming months. Trump reinforced the prospect of a resolution, asserting that "he wants a deal" if Ukrainian leadership shows a similar willingness to enter negotiations.
