U.S. President Donald Trump suggested a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz could be reached soon, as Iran denies direct talks and insists the passage remains closed.

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz could be finalized within days, while warning that no goods will reach Iran without a deal or surrender. Trump reiterated that Tehran must not obtain nuclear weapons and threatened military escalation if American objectives in the strategic waterway are obstructed.

Meanwhile, Iranian officials reiterated that Tehran is not engaging in direct negotiations with Washington, maintaining that the strait will remain closed until the United States alters its policy. Iranian representatives noted that ongoing discussions with Oman center strictly on establishing safe maritime routes. The statements follow reports of another vessel being struck in the Strait of Hormuz amid heightened regional security concerns.
