U.S. President Donald Trump stated a deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is near, even as Iran threatens strikes on Gulf energy sites if attacked.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced that an agreement to reopen the Strait of Hormuz could be finalized within days, citing significant progress in negotiations between Iran and Oman regarding secure maritime passage. Despite this diplomatic movement, Tehran warned it would launch retaliatory strikes against Gulf energy infrastructure if Washington carries out further military actions against Iranian targets.

Concurrently, security conditions in adjacent waters remain volatile following reports that an Indian vessel was struck and sunk near Yemen. In Europe, Israeli and Lebanese envoys convened in Rome for a seventh round of talks, as the United Nations confirmed that approximately 800,000 displaced citizens have started returning to southern Lebanon.
