US President Donald Trump has urged Ukraine and Russia to negotiate a peace deal before winter, following talks with both leaders.

US President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach a peace agreement prior to the onset of winter.

Following high-level diplomatic discussions, including a telephone call with Putin and an in-person meeting with Zelensky, Trump expressed confidence regarding Moscow's willingness to negotiate. "He wants a deal, and if Zelensky wants a deal, that would be great," Trump stated.

Zelensky characterized his meeting with the US president as "positive and productive," adding that both Washington and Kyiv share the goal of ending the conflict in the coming months. Trump maintained that a negotiated settlement remains achievable if both leaders commit to dialogue.
