US President Donald Trump predicted a potential agreement on the Strait of Hormuz standoff despite no direct talks with Tehran, as Iran demands policy changes and continues negotiations with Oman.

US President Donald Trump suggested a deal regarding the Strait of Hormuz standoff could materialize soon, while maintaining that Washington is not engaged in full-scale direct negotiations with Tehran. Describing the strategic confrontation as "like a game of chess," Trump downplayed economic pressure and noted the waterway remains operational despite reduced maritime traffic following a recent vessel attack. Furthermore, Trump threatened military action against both Tehran and Oman if US passage through the strait is impeded, stating nothing would enter Iran without an "agreement or surrender."

Concurrently, Iranian diplomatic representatives stated that normal transit through the strait will not resume unless Washington fundamentally alters its policy. Iranian officials continue discussions with Oman to establish secure maritime shipping lanes, while warning of a possible transition to offensive military operations should diplomatic efforts collapse.
