Iran and Oman continue talks over the Strait of Hormuz as U.S. President Donald Trump signals a possible deal despite Tehran's strict conditions.

Discussions between Iran and Oman regarding transit through the Strait of Hormuz continue, with Iranian officials seeking secure maritime routes while demanding U.S. sanction relief, compensation for war damages, and an end to military threats before reopening the waterway. Tehran stated that negotiations with Muscat are in their final stage.

U.S. President Donald Trump indicated a resolution could be reached within days, though he also downplayed urgency, describing the situation as a "chess game" and highlighting Iran's economic difficulties. Meanwhile, Washington noted progress in the Oman-mediated discussions, despite warnings of severe consequences if the strait remains blocked.

In parallel regional developments, Israeli and Lebanese representatives convened for a seventh round of talks in Rome as approximately 800,000 displaced residents return to southern Lebanon, while maritime risks persisted following the sinking of an Indian vessel off Yemen's coast.
