Trump expresses confidence in potential Ukraine peace deal after talks with Putin and Zelensky

US President Donald Trump stated he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin wants a deal to end the war in Ukraine following a recent telephone conversation between the two leaders. Trump urged both Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to reach a negotiated agreement before winter.

Following a meeting with Trump, Zelensky characterized the dialogue as a "positive and productive" session focused on measures to halt Russian aggression. Both Washington and Kyiv expressed a shared objective of concluding the war in the coming months. However, neither side has released concrete terms or an official framework for formal peace negotiations.
