Trump claims Putin seeks deal to end war in Ukraine before winter

US President Donald Trump stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin seeks an agreement to end the war in Ukraine, following a telephone call between the two leaders. Speaking alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump urged both Kyiv and Moscow to reach a settlement prior to the upcoming winter.

Zelensky described his discussions with Trump as "positive and productive," noting a shared objective between Washington and Kyiv to halt Russian aggression in the coming months. Trump reiterated his stance, stating, "He wants a deal, and if Zelensky wants a deal, that would be great." However, neither Washington, Moscow, nor Kyiv has disclosed specific details or proposed conditions for potential negotiations.
