Trump calls on Zelensky and Putin to reach peace deal before winter

US President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to reach an agreement to resolve the war in Ukraine before winter. Speaking following separate discussions with both leaders, Trump expressed confidence that Putin desires a settlement, adding that a resolution will require agreement from both sides.

Zelensky described his discussion with Trump as "positive and productive," stating that both Washington and Kyiv share the objective of concluding the conflict before winter. Trump noted alignment with Ukraine on several matters, but reasserted that direct negotiations between Zelensky and Putin are necessary to achieve peace.
