Trump calls for Ukraine-Russia settlement before winter following talks with Zelensky

Following a bilateral meeting, U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an agreement to end the war in Ukraine before winter. Speaking to reporters, Trump expressed confidence that Putin desires a resolution following a recent telephone discussion between the two leaders, stating, "He wants a deal and, if Zelensky wants a deal, that would be great."

Zelensky described his talks with Trump as "positive and productive," signaling optimism that the conflict could conclude in the coming months. Both leaders emphasized a shared goal to halt hostilities prior to the winter season.
