Trump calls for Ukraine deal before winter after talks with Putin and Zelensky
US President Donald Trump has called on Ukraine and Russia to negotiate a settlement before winter, following separate talks with Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky.
US President Donald Trump stated he believes Russian President Vladimir Putin is seeking a negotiated settlement to end the war in Ukraine, following a telephone conversation between the two leaders. Speaking after subsequent discussions with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump urged both Moscow and Kyiv to agree on terms before winter arrives.
Zelensky described his talks with Trump as "positive and productive," suggesting that hostilities could end in the near future. Both sides expressed a desire to halt the conflict, though no detailed terms or formal ceasefire frameworks were publicly announced.
