Iran and Oman continue talks on securing passage through the Strait of Hormuz as broader regional diplomacy proceeds in Rome.

Negotiations between Iran and Oman over commercial navigation through the Strait of Hormuz remain underway, with discussions centered on establishing designated maritime corridors. Tehran reiterated that reopening the strategic waterway requires major concessions from the United States, including sanctions relief, an end to military threats, and compensation for war damages.

U.S. President Donald Trump suggested an arrangement could materialize soon, while also characterizing the standoff as a strategic waiting game and citing Iran's domestic economic pressures. Washington acknowledged progress in the Omani-mediated talks, though no formal accord has been finalized.

In parallel diplomatic efforts, Lebanese and Israeli delegations convened in Rome for a seventh round of talks, as approximately 800,000 displaced Lebanese citizens continue returning to southern border areas.
