Negotiations over navigation rights in the Strait of Hormuz continue between Iran and Oman as Donald Trump signals a potential diplomatic breakthrough could happen rapidly.

Diplomatic negotiations between Iran and Oman over commercial shipping corridors in the Strait of Hormuz remain active, as officials work to establish secure maritime transit. Tehran continues to seek operational oversight and demands economic and sanctions concessions from the United States before fully restoring navigation.

United States President Donald Trump noted that an agreement could materialize rapidly, stating it "could happen today or tomorrow," while warning of severe consequences should the strategic waterway remain blocked. Trump also characterized the ongoing standoff as comparable to a chess match.

Concurrently, Italian-mediated negotiations between Israel and Lebanon entered a seventh round in Rome, and the United Nations reported that hundreds of thousands of displaced Lebanese residents are returning south.
