The Sweden Democrats experienced their first national election drop to 17.5 percent, even as leadership insists on cabinet demands and celebrates local successes.

The Sweden Democrats experienced their first decline in a general election, falling to 17.5 percent from 20.5 percent in 2022. Party official Tobias Andersson described losing support, particularly among younger voters moving to the Moderate Party, as concerning. Despite the drop, party leader Jimmie Åkesson maintained demands for ministerial posts, asserting that "there is no obvious winner in this election."

In local contests, the party achieved a record 39 percent in Färgelanda following local debates over school closures, making the municipality its strongest bastion. Meanwhile, legal proceedings involving former party lawmaker Katja Nyberg have been postponed.
