Spanish and Moroccan authorities navigate political tension, returns, and missing person reports following a massive border influx into Ceuta.

Efforts to manage the aftermath of the recent border surge into Ceuta continue as local authorities, military units, and emergency services address logistics and casualties. Ceuta's president estimated up to 80,000 arrivals, with between 3,000 and 5,000 remaining, describing the city's integrity as having been violated. Spanish legionnaire units have begun returning migrants at the border.

In Madrid, political friction emerged between the Interior and Defense ministries over the operation. The central government dismissed a National Security Department official after an unauthorized report citing 49,000 entries was published.

Morocco reported 40,000 border approaches and 11 fatalities within its territory. Meanwhile, Spanish authorities opened a dedicated missing persons office in Ceuta as local estimates of fatalities reached 88.
