Spain deploys naval ships and police to Ceuta after recent mass border entries, as local and national officials disagree on the remaining migrant population.

Spanish military and police forces have reinforced land and maritime security around Ceuta following a recent surge in border crossings. The Ministry of Defence deployed naval frigates alongside additional riot police units to secure the enclave's perimeter. As border operations gradually return to normal, Spanish authorities have begun processing approximately twenty asylum applications.

However, significant discrepancies persist regarding the situation on the ground. Central government representatives state that roughly 2,500 migrants, including 500 unaccompanied minors, remain in Ceuta. In contrast, local officials estimate the figure at 6,000. Tensions have also emerged between Spain's Interior and Defence ministries regarding military involvement in migrant detentions and the central government's diplomatic stance toward Morocco.
