Former national team captain Aleš Čeh and forward Jan Mlakar reflect on their careers, coaching paths, and PrvaLiga ambitions.

Prominent Slovenian football figures have offered perspectives on their careers and domestic football. Aleš Čeh, former captain of Slovenia's national team under manager Srečko Katanec, detailed his transition into coaching after retiring as a player. Čeh spent more than ten years as an assistant to Katanec, including seven years coaching in Asia, while maintaining professional respect for former clubs Grazer AK, Olimpija Ljubljana, and Maribor.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old forward Jan Mlakar returned to Maribor for a third spell as he aims to secure his first PrvaLiga title. Mlakar expressed confidence in club leadership, specifically Zlatko Zahovič and Darko Milanič, and dismissed past transfer speculation regarding rival club Olimpija Ljubljana, noting he was "never close" to signing with them. Mlakar added that despite Olimpija's recent difficulties, they remain a competitive threat in upcoming derby fixtures.
