Former Slovenian team figures Aleš Čeh and Jan Mlakar reflect on managerial transitions, transfer rumors, and domestic rivalries.

Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh and forward Jan Mlakar have reflected on their football careers and the current landscape of Slovenian domestic football.

Čeh, who served as long-time assistant to manager Srečko Katanec during a seven-year stint coaching in Asia, discussed his transition into management following his playing career. Despite his historical affiliations with Olimpija Ljubljana and Grazer AK, Čeh expressed professional respect for rival club Maribor.

Separately, 27-year-old forward Jan Mlakar addressed his third stint with Maribor, stating his ambition to win his first PrvaLiga title with the club. Mlakar dismissed past transfer rumors, clarifying that he was "never close" to signing with Olimpija Ljubljana. He noted that while Olimpija faces recent challenges, the club remains a competitive opponent in upcoming derby matches.
