Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh and striker Jan Mlakar have shared insights into their careers and team dynamics ahead of the upcoming derby between Olimpija Ljubljana and Maribor.

Čeh, a key figure in Slovenia's qualifying era under manager Srečko Katanec, transitioned into coaching following his playing days. He spent more than a decade as Katanec's assistant manager, including seven years working in Asia. Despite his deep ties to Olimpija and Austrian club Grazer AK, Čeh expressed enduring respect for Maribor.

Meanwhile, Ljubljana-native Mlakar discussed his third stint with Maribor. Mlakar noted that while rival club Olimpija is currently enduring a period of crisis, derby matches provide struggling teams with a clean slate and an immediate chance to regain momentum.
