Former Slovenian international captain Aleš Čeh and forward Jan Mlakar have provided perspectives on their footballing journeys and the landscape of Slovenian club football.

Čeh, who led Slovenia during its landmark international tournament appearances, reflected on his transition to coaching following a playing career with clubs such as Olimpija, Grazer AK, and Maribor. He subsequently spent over a decade assisting manager Srečko Katanec, including seven years coaching in Asia.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old striker Mlakar addressed his third stint with Maribor. Despite his origins in Ljubljana, Mlakar stated that a move to local rivals Olimpija was never a consideration. Addressing an upcoming rivalry match, he observed that while Olimpija is currently experiencing internal difficulties, outcomes in local derbies remain difficult to forecast.
