Slovenian football figures Čeh and Mlakar reflect on coaching, returns and derbies

Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh and forward Jan Mlakar have shared perspectives on their careers and the domestic league landscape in Slovenia. Čeh, who led the national squad during its successful spell under manager Srečko Katanec, served as Katanec's assistant coach for over a decade, including seven years in Asia. Despite strong ties to Olimpija Ljubljana and Austria's Grazer AK, Čeh expressed high regard for Maribor.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old striker Jan Mlakar addressed his third stint with Maribor. Mlakar expressed confidence in club figures Zlatko Zahović and Darko Milanič while looking ahead to facing rivals Olimpija Ljubljana. He noted that despite Olimpija's recent struggles, derby fixtures remain inherently unpredictable.
