Aleš Čeh and Jan Mlakar share perspectives on their coaching and playing careers, Maribor, and domestic Slovenian football.

Former Slovenian national team captain Aleš Čeh and forward Jan Mlakar have shared insights into their football careers and the state of domestic club football.

Čeh, who captained Slovenia during its prominent international qualification era, reflected on his transition to coaching. After playing for clubs including Olimpija, Grazer AK, and Maribor, he spent more than a decade as an assistant to manager Srečko Katanec, including seven years working in Asia.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old striker Jan Mlakar discussed his third spell with Maribor. Despite his Ljubljana roots, Mlakar clarified that he was never close to joining hometown rivals Olimpija. Looking ahead to the upcoming derby match, he noted that while Olimpija currently faces internal struggles, outcomes in derby fixtures remain unpredictable.
