Russian strikes inflict heavy casualties across Ukraine as fighting intensifies in Donetsk

A wave of Russian overnight drone and missile bombardments has struck multiple regions across Ukraine, resulting in significant loss of life and infrastructure damage. Local officials reported at least 17 deaths in the Kyiv region after intense strikes triggered fires in the capital and its suburbs. Additional casualties were recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where widespread attacks included a lethal drone strike on a petrol station near Kryvyi Rih. Authorities also reported strikes involving roughly 180 drones across the Odesa, Sumy, and Zaporizhzhia areas.

Concurrently, Russia's Defense Ministry stated that its forces secured control over the settlements of Vasyutinske and Toretsk in the eastern Donetsk region. Ukrainian military officials confirmed that heavy combat remains active along the eastern front lines.
