Russian drone strikes hit Kyiv after President Zelensky's UN speech, while the EU addresses hybrid threats linked to Moscow.

Russian forces launched additional overnight drone strikes against Kyiv, wounding one woman and causing local damage. The bombardment followed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s address to the UN General Assembly, where he strongly condemned Moscow. Concurrently, Russia’s Defense Ministry announced targeted operations against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

In response to persistent Ukrainian aerial strikes on domestic oil refineries and petroleum facilities, Moscow has been forced to import refined fuel to alleviate domestic shortages.

Meanwhile, security concerns within the European Union escalated after German authorities identified two suspects linked to Moscow in connection with explosive drone incidents in Leipzig. Reacting to the threat, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned that European soil would be defended, stating, "We do not tolerate attacks on EU soil, ready to respond."
