EU vows response after Leipzig drone incidents and fresh Kyiv raids

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned against attacks on EU soil after Leipzig drone incidents, as Russian forces targeted Kyiv and energy infrastructure.
Russian forces launched a new wave of drone strikes targeting Kyiv, injuring at least one person and damaging local infrastructure. The barrage followed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address at the United Nations General Assembly, where he criticized Moscow's aggression. Concurrently, Russia's defense ministry confirmed a renewed offensive focused on disrupting Ukraine's energy grid, while Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian refineries have forced Moscow to import fuel to address domestic deficits.
In Germany, security officials identified two suspects with ties to Moscow regarding explosive drone incidents in Leipzig. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen issued a firm statement, declaring, "We do not tolerate attacks on EU soil, ready to respond."
