Russia and Ukraine have exchanged overnight strikes while US-led NATO forces conducted military operations near Kaliningrad.

Cross-border strikes between Russian and Ukrainian forces have intensified alongside US-led NATO military maneuvers near the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad. Russian overnight ballistic missile attacks targeted Kyiv, resulting in at least two deaths and six injuries. The assault followed prior Russian drone strikes on a British American Tobacco facility in northern Ukraine.

In response, Ukrainian drone strikes targeted industrial targets in Russia's Saratov and Samara regions. A fire broke out at the Kuibyshev oil refinery, though regional officials stated air defenses intercepted dozens of incoming drones.

Concurrently, NATO forces conducted coordinated operations near Kaliningrad featuring American and Norwegian fighter jets, AWACS aircraft, and Polish ground units. Responding to inquiries about the maneuvers, NATO stated that as a defensive alliance, it "continuously needs to improve its capabilities."
