German police in Schleswig-Holstein have acknowledged search errors following the discovery of a missing three-year-old girl dead in a pool on her family's property in Preetz. A preliminary autopsy confirmed that the child drowned after officers initially missed her during an earlier check of the premises.

Separately, a tour bus carrying 54 passengers from the region crashed early in the morning in the Netherlands. The group consisted of students and teachers from the Gemeinschaftsschule Probstei in Schönberg. At least 15 people were injured in the collision, several of them severely.
