Omani-mediated talks over navigation through the Strait of Hormuz continue, as Tehran demands concessions and Washington offers mixed signals on a deal.

Diplomatic efforts mediated by Oman regarding navigation through the Strait of Hormuz have continued, with United States and Iranian officials presenting varying timelines and conditions.

Iranian representatives reiterated that reopening the critical waterway requires Washington to lift economic sanctions, provide compensation for damages, and cease military threats, while Tehran seeks regulatory oversight over inbound and outbound vessels.

Meanwhile, United States President Donald Trump suggested an agreement could be finalized rapidly, stating it could happen within days. However, Trump also issued warnings of severe consequences if maritime traffic is not restored, while simultaneously downplaying Washington's urgency by referencing Iran's domestic economic pressures.
