Gaza holds a mass funeral for 112 airstrike victims as Jordan warns of an imminent Israeli threat to Jerusalem's al-Aqsa compound.

A mass funeral was held in Gaza City for 112 Palestinians whose remains were recently recovered from the rubble of a November 2023 Israeli airstrike in the Sabra neighbourhood. Emergency crews spent two weeks retrieving the victims, mostly women and children from two extended families, after a residential block was destroyed.

In parallel, Jordan convened an emergency meeting of Arab and Islamic foreign ministers over what it called an "imminent" threat of an Israeli takeover at Jerusalem's al-Aqsa mosque compound, warning it could "trigger a religious conflict".

Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump’s Peace Council announced that Israeli forces will remain deployed in Gaza until Hamas completes full disarmament, establishing conditions following discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
