Iran has announced a shift to a "completely offensive" military strategy after peace negotiations with the United States stalled and a 60-day memorandum of understanding expired without an extension. Iranian military officials declared they would persist until achieving the "complete defeat" of American forces in the region.
The political impasse follows escalating naval confrontations. According to US Central Command, American forces targeted five Iranian oil tankers, sinking one, in response to Iranian strikes on a US warship. Analysts caution that growing economic sanctions against Tehran and rising security risks in the Strait of Hormuz could spark a wider regional war.
